Different Ways to Use Pantone’s Colour of the Year

Each year, the world-renowned colour authority, Pantone, releases its colour of the year. Typically this is a colour that has infiltrated the rest of society as well, not just the design world. If a colour is finding its way on to runways, on social media, in art as well as design, it’s likely it will land the ‘colour of the year title’. For 2017, Pantone announced that the colour of the year would be ‘Greenery‘, which is a ‘fresh and zesty yellow-green shade’. In their official statement Pantone said that the colour ‘evokes the first day of spring, when nature’s greens revive, restore, and renew’. If you have a love of architecture, then surely you know who Ma Yansong is. In fact, you probably worship the ground he walks on. In case you're not yet a devout follower, let us introduce you. Ma Yansong is the key architect for MAD Architects. MAD is an architectural design firm based in Beijing, and represents the creative minds responsible for our popular Absolute Towers development in Mississauga. Founded in 2004, the contemporary studio has been showcasing their unique approach to architecture ever since. Their designs are futuristic, yet organic in that they're always striving to find the balance between 'humanity, the city, and the environment'. If you've been paying attention to local news over the last month, you've probably heard the term 'Complete Streets' thrown around. It's also very likely that you've never heard of this before, and are wondering what it's all about. The city recently released its guidelines for these 'complete streets' in order to provide an introduction to the more holistically designed streets of the near future. Public Art Installation Coming to Toronto's Waterfront

It's no secret that during the summer months Toronto's waterfront is absolutely bustling, which is understandable. When the sun is out, and you're looking for ways to embrace the heat, taking a nice stroll along the lake, taking out a canoe or kayak, or a ferry trip to the island are the perfect activities. But once the temperatures drop, the neighbourhood gets much less busy. While the winter chill can sometimes be a little much, the waterfront is still beautiful this time of year, and definitely worth a visit. That's why Winter Stations and the Waterfront BIA are bringing a winter public art installation to the waterfront, giving Torontonians a great reason to explore the waterfront.
